Given the opportunity, the body has a remarkable ability to heal and restore balance. The key here is - given the opportunity. Through modalities such as Reiki, meditation and TRE® we're setting up more ideal conditions for our natural restorative capacities to kick in. We're offering the body and our entire being an opportunity to do what it innately knows how to do.
For now I'm going to focus just on Reiki, which has a way of gently encouraging the reorganization of our energy and supporting physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual alignment and balance. As reorganization occurs, various experiences may arise such as small muscle twitches, sensations within the body, and images or colors floating through the mind. All of these are just ways of perceiving and experiencing energy movement. There's no wrong experience. What's important is giving our body the attention that's needed for healing and balancing to occur.
With the endless distractions that occupy our days, we need to consciously incorporate into our daily life the things that give our body the opportunity to down-regulate the stress response and switch on the relaxation response. This is often easier said than done when you're not use to doing self-care, have a very busy and hectic schedule, or not a lot of added funds for professional treatments.
Let me assist you with a starting place. I have included here a free guided self-Reiki practice, as well as a list of some self-care ideas you might like to try. No experience or training is necessary to participate in the audio practice below. All you need to do is give yourself permission to make your well-being a priority. Maybe you'll be inspired and motivated to continue adding small self-care practices into your daily life. I encourage you to start with what's manageable for you, and be consistent with it. You'll be surprised at the difference you'll feel in your life.
